Value Proposition Design

Pinpoint exactly why customers choose you over the competition.

You have a strong product, a compelling service, or an entire portfolio—but if you’re being honest: can you say in one sentence why customers should buy from you specifically? Many companies lack this exact clarity regarding their own customer value. Offers sound interchangeable, marketing messages miss the mark, and sales teams focus on features rather than real added value. The result: customers drop off, competitors pull ahead, and your own value proposition remains lackluster. Without a precise value proposition, you are wasting the potential inherent in your products and services.

Solution Approach

Your offering deserves more than a generic website description. With our Value Proposition Design approach, we get to the heart of what truly makes your company special—from your customers' perspective. Using the Value Proposition Canvas , we systematically capture what drives your target audiences: their tasks, frustrations, and desires. We align this customer profile with your services and translate it into razor-sharp value propositionsthat resonate and convince. This creates a foundation where marketing, sales, and product development finally speak the same language—the language of your customers.

Benefits

  • Crystal-clear differentiation through value propositions that stand out from the competition and immediately show customers the added value.
  • Effective communication through messaging that addresses real customer needs instead of missing the mark
  • Stronger customer loyalty through an offering that genuinely helps customers in their daily lives and resonates on an emotional level
  • Informed product development through a structured understanding of which features and services deliver the greatest customer value

Approach

  1. Kick-off & target audience definition: Together, we clarify which products or services are the focus, define the relevant target audiences, and establish a shared understanding of the current situation.
  2. Customer profiling: We dive deep into your customers' world – systematically capturing and structuring their jobs-to-be-done, their frustrations (pains), and their desires (gains).
  3. Value mapping: Your service offering is mapped against customer needs. We identify where your offering provides real added value – and where gaps still exist.
  4. Value proposition development: Based on the canvas, we formulate clear, differentiating value propositions for each target group – precise, compelling, and ready for immediate use.
  5. Validation & fine-tuning: The developed value propositions are tested and refined through customer feedback, prototyping, or testing to ensure their impact.
  6. Implementation & transfer: Concrete recommendations for marketing, sales, product development, and communication make the results immediately actionable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions? We have the answers.

Do we need a separate value proposition for every product?

Yes, if the target audiences or their needs differ. A value proposition is always the link between a specific offering and a specific customer group. For a broad portfolio, this results in several coordinated value propositions.

What is the difference between a value proposition and a slogan?

A slogan is a concise marketing message. The value proposition is the strategic foundation behind it: it precisely describes what value you provide to whom and why that is better than the alternatives. The slogan is derived from this, not the other way around.

How do we find out if our value proposition really resonates with customers?

During the validation phase, we test the developed value propositions with real customer feedback, e.g., through interviews, landing page tests, or A/B experiments. This allows you to identify what works and what needs refining before the rollout.

Can we also conduct the workshop remotely?

Absolutely. Our methodology works both on-site and remotely using digital whiteboards and structured sessions. The quality of the results remains the same as long as the right stakeholders are involved.

What happens if our target audiences or our offering change after the project?

The customer profiles and value maps we create are living documents. We provide you with a structure and methodology that allows you to incorporate changes independently without having to start from scratch every time.
